Courts and bar regulators have taken many steps to accommodate lawyers' multijurisdictional practice but trends in interstate and global lawyering demand even greater attention to additional changes that are needed to harmonize regulation with what clients are asking law firms to do, speakers said June 5 at the ABA National Conference on Professional Responsibility. During the program on “Cross Border Practice at the Crossroads,” panelists and audience members examined MJP from several angles, particularly as to what lawyers are allowed and should be allowed to do outside the jurisdiction in which they are licensed.
