Family Business

Abstract: Many business owners (and their heirs) dream that one day they will be able to convert the family’s sweat equity into financial equity —i.e., cold cash. Goldenberg is quoted in an article appearing in the Autumn 2010 edition of Family Business.

09.03.10Restructuring Attorney Gutfeld Aims To Give Back As Trustee
Dow Jones Daily Bankruptcy Review - Small Cap

Abstract: Bankruptcy attorney Deborah Gutfeld didn’t become a Chapter 7 trustee for the glamour or the glory. Instead, she saw a chance to do good. Gutfeld wanted to “do something that gives back a little to the bankruptcy world,” she said. “This isn’t something that’s particularly lucrative, but it’s something that has to be done.” Her mission is to make sure that the individuals and business that wish to seek protection under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code aren’t trying to take advantage of the system by ensuring individuals meet income requirements and aren’t trying to hide any assets from the court. Neal Gerber Eisenberg Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group partner Deborah M. Gutfeld is profiled in the September 3, 2010 edition of the Dow Jones Daily Bankruptcy Review - Small Cap's "Mover of the Week" column.
